What is this product about?
UBA General Savings account is an account that enables you to save money regularly and allows you instant cash withdrawals without notice to the bank.

What is the minimum operating balance in the account?
The minimum operating balance is N5,000 however account holder is allowed to draw down to N1,000 which attracts a charge of N105.

What is the maximum number of withdrawals I can make in a month?
Maximum of three withdrawals is allowed per month otherwise interest for the month would be forfeited.

What is the interest rate on this account?
It is normal savings rate of 2% p.a. paid on a quarterly basis provided withdrawals do not exceed three times in a month.

Will I be given Debit card if I open the account?
Yes, all account holders are entitled to debit card.

Can I deposit and withdraw money from any UBA branch?
Yes you can deposit or withdraw from any branch but there is a charge for making transactions outside the Business Office where your account is domiciled.

Can I lodge cheques and dividend warrant into my savings account?
Yes, but you have to provide two satisfactory current account referees.

Can I access my account via the internet?
Yes, you can access your account information, transfer funds, etc via our internet banking website, www.ubadirect.com but you must first subscribe to it.

Can a third party make withdrawals?
No, third party withdrawals are not allowed on a savings account.

Can I give reference to a prospective customer who requires reference?
No, a savings account customer cannot give reference to another account holder.
