How can I prevent Identity Theft?
- Do not leave your ATM receipts in bank machines, bank windows, bins or in trouser pockets.
- Do not disclose or send others on errands to the ATM machine with your card and PIN details.
- Do not click on any link on the internet that will ‘supposedly’ take you to its internet banking website. Always type the address of your Internet Banking website into your internet browser.
- Beware of SMS, mail or telephone solicitations disguised as promotions offering instant prizes or awards designed solely to obtain your personal information or credit card numbers – Remember, if the offer is too good to be true, then it isn’t true.
- Install up to date Antivirus and Firewall on your personal computers
- Never give personal information over the telephone unless you initiated the call.
