UBA INTRODUCES FIRST VISA DUAL CURRENCY DEBIT CARD IN NIGERIA

It is one card that can be used for both Naira, US Dollars and other international currency transactions.

It is one card that can be used for both Naira, US Dollars and other international currency transactions.  The Chip and PIN driven card, is issued by the bank on the platform of Visa International which accords maximum protection, security and global acceptance.

The introduction of the UBA VISA Dual Currency Debit Card is predicated on the bank's desire to provide convenient means of payment to its customers regardless of where they may be, without carrying multiple cards.  “This is the best thing that has happened to customers in recent times as they do not need to carry multiple cards for different purposes especially when they travel out of the country," says Executive Director, Global Products and Segment Banking, Mrs. Angela Nwabuoku. According to her, “the UBA VISA Dual Currency Debit Card is accepted at over 24 million shops and business locations worldwide where the VISA International acceptance sign is displayed, in over 220 countries and can also be used at more than 900,000 ATM machines globally."

The UBA VISA Dual Currency Debit Card has some specially embedded features which differentiate it from a typical debit card. Described as “a multiple, dual currency and flexible card” with credit line attached, the UBA VISA Dual Currency Debit Card’s functionality and special attributes include;

    * Usage both locally and internationally
    * 100% access to funds anywhere, anytime.
    * Controlled spending; Real-time SMS transaction notification on customer's account.
    * A credit line that enables the customers apply for UBA finance/loan options.

Extra benefits inherent in the debit card include; payment for goods and services over the internet, domestic account to account transfer, safe means of transactions, 24 hrs account balance enquiries and online access, flexible and convenient use.

To obtain the UBA Dual VISA Debit Card, customers are required to complete the debit card application form, accompanied by two passport photographs and other relevant identification documentation. These should be submitted to the customer service officers at any of the bank’s over 700 branches nationwide.
