Pan African banking group, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc in collaboration with VISA International, has concluded arrangements to sponsor eight customers on the UBA-VISA card platform to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa starting in June 2010.

This was disclosed in Lagos on Wednesday May 12, 2010 during the final draw of the promo where eight winners emerged. The winners are: Ehiozogie Bright Imade, Aminu Zakari, Chidi Emmanuel Ezimako, Patricia N. Udogu, Badmos Salaudeen Mustapha, Timolaj Global Ventures, Ajekigbe Mukaila Niyi and Olapeko Richard Rotimi. Speaking at the draw, Group Director, E-Banking and Retail Products, United Bank for Africa Plc, Mr. Ike Onyenokwe said the promo was one of the numerous platforms through which UBA rewards its customers using any of its VISA card products. Onyenokwe said that winners of the draw will be treated to a once in a life time experience as the package includes tours of South Africa in addition to watching two 2010 FIFA World Cup matches each. Winners will enjoy among other benefits, four-night stay in a South African four star accommodation, tickets to two matches, US$ 200 Visa money card, breakfast daily, pre-match hospitality, branded merchandise gifts packs etc.

The package does not cover airfare to and from South Africa and winners are expected to have a valid South African entry Visa in order to participate.
