UBA Staff Show Love On International Children's Day

Staff of United Bank for Africa (Ghana) as part of the International Children’s Day Celebration which fell on Thursday May 27 made donations to a number of orphanages across the bank’s areas of operation.

In addition to spending time with the staff and children of the homes,the Staff of UBA presented assorted food items, clothing, stationary and cash donations totaling over GH¢ 7,000.00 Seven Thousand Ghana Cedis.

The five Orphanages visited namely, Country Side Orphanage, Bawjiase, Kids Care International, Tema, Fathers’ Home Care Sekondi, Kumasi Children’s Home, Good Shepherd Happy Home in Aflao each received cash donations, used clothing, bags of rice, fruit juices, cooking oil, loaves of bread, stationary amongst others.

Making the presentation at the Country Side Orphanage, the Head of Corporate Communications, Mr Eli Muzzu mentioned that the gesture by the Staff of the bank is a demonstration of one of the core values of the bank which is empathy.

“We recognize that on a day like this, there is no better way to bring smiles to the faces of these unfortunate children than to spend time with them and donate our widow’s mite.” UBA’s core values are Humility, Empathy, Integrity and Resilience (HEIR).

Receiving the items on behalf of the children, Captain Rtd & Mrs. Joe Yeboah, the parents of the house applauded the Staff of UBA and prayed for Gods blessing for the institution and its staff. Mrs. Boafo Yeboah lamented that their location has made it difficult to attract regular support of this kind. She used the opportunity to appeal to other corporate institutions to emulate the laudable example of the Staff of UBA and support them with the upkeep of the 160 children presently in their care.
