After the Easter break, the UBA Group went straight into a series of events that lasted the whole week. The week saw the gathering of investors, shareholders, executive management of the bank, industry leaders, dignitaries, and other distinguished guests at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Abuja.
The week kicked off with high-level conversations at the board meeting, setting the tone; bringing together the bank’s finest minds to reflect on milestones, chart bold new strategies, and reinforce UBA’s commitment to excellence across Africa and beyond.
Next up? The Group Chairman’s Forum. This was a powerful gathering of leaders and visionaries from across the UBA Group. Ideas, visions, and a collective push towards the future were the order of the day. Conversations buzzed with innovation, strategy, and the kind of future-focused thinking that’s kept UBA ahead of the curve for 75 years and counting.
Then came the Annual General Meeting (AGM), where shareholders gathered to celebrate not just strong numbers and growth, but the values and commitment that have made UBA a household name across the continent and beyond.
What do they say about “all work and no play”… again? The week culminated in an evening of entertainment and fun with the 75th Anniversary Gala Dinner. With Nigerian entertainment royalty like D’banj, Flavour, and the one with the magic feet, Poco Lee, lighting up the night, the ballroom transformed into a sea of celebration, laughter, and nonstop dancing. Staff, stakeholders, and special guests alike revelled in the unforgettable moment.
It was more than a party. It was a movement. A reminder of how far we have come as an institution, from our early days in 1949 to becoming Africa’s Global Bank, now present in 20 African countries and 4 global financial centres.
As we enter our next chapter, one thing is certain: this is only the beginning. The legacy surely continues.
