POWER ANTHEMS: 8 SONGS ON MY GIRL POWER PLAYLIST FOR WOMEN’S MONTH

We are still in Women’s Month and are most definitely still celebrating the achievements, resilience, and strength of women everywhere. And what better way to honour the spirit of womanhood than with a playlist packed full of empowering anthems? Whether you’re getting ready to conquer the world, need a boost of confidence, or simply want to celebrate being a phenomenal woman, these 8 girl power songs on my playlist will have you feeling unstoppable.

“Who Runs the World” by Beyonce

Starting off strong with Queen Bey herself, this iconic anthem is a rallying cry for female empowerment. With its infectious beat, powerful lyrics and of course, the dance routine, which I have tried and tried to learn but my two left feet keep saying NO, Beyoncé reminds us that women are forces to be reckoned with. From the boardroom to the dance floor, this song is a reminder that women have the power to shape their own destinies.

“I’m Every Woman” by Chaka Khan

When you combine Chaka Khan’s powerful vocals and her confidence, you get an unstoppable anthem celebrating the multifaceted nature of womanhood. This song is about women’s infinite capacity for strength, resilience, and love. From nurturing caregivers to fierce warriors, women truly are every woman.

“Feeling Good as H*ll” by Lizzo

Lizzo is my girl any time any day because she hasn’t for one day let the backlash from people and the media about her weight stop her shine. Her infectious energy and unapologetic self-love make this song an essential addition to any girl power playlist. With its catchy chorus and empowering lyrics, “Feeling Good as H*ll” is about embracing your flaws, celebrating your successes, and strutting through life confidently.

“I Am Woman” by Emmy Meli

This song has been everywhere on social media since its release in 2021. But trust me, I never get the Arrgh! Not again! moment whenever it comes on. It’s always fresh to me. Meli’s soulful voice delivers a powerful message of empowerment in this modern anthem for women. The song celebrates the feminity, strength, resilience, and determination of women everywhere.

“Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera’s soul-stirring ballad tells us that true beauty comes from within. “Beautiful” encourages women to embrace their uniqueness, flaws and all, and to recognise their inherent worth and value. It’s a song about self-acceptance and self-love, no matter what we look like on the outside. Remember, words can’t bring us down.

“I’m Coming Out” by Diana Ross

This song makes me just want to hit the dancefloor with my flared jumpsuit and afro and some platform heels, you know that 70s chic and do a Grammy-worthy performance for me alone, of course. “I’m Coming Out” encourages women to boldly embrace who they are and to live authentically without fear of judgement or criticism. It’s a reminder that we should never hide our true selves but instead let our light shine brightly for the world to see.

“Put Your Records On” by Corinne Bailey Rae

With its laid-back vibe and uplifting lyrics, “Put Your Records On” is the perfect song to lift your spirits and let you know to shake off any negativity. This song makes you want to let go of your worries and just enjoy life. Whenever I listen to the song, I always picture myself riding a bike on a dirt road like they did in the video, but unfortunately, I can’t ride one.

“I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor

No girl power playlist would be complete without this classic song of resilience and strength. “I Will Survive” is a timeless reminder that no matter what challenges life throws our way, women have the inner strength and determination to overcome them. Ms. Gaynor certainly poured out her heart through her powerful vocals and defiant spirit, making this song a true inspiration for women everywhere.

So there you have it, guys. These are the songs on my playlist that I crank up my speakers to this women’s month. Please feel free to add them to your playlist. You are welcome. That’s on women supporting women! Whether you’ll be belting them out at the top of your lungs or dancing like nobody’s watching, these songs are sure to leave you feeling empowered, inspired, and ready to take on the world.
