On February 14th 2020, UBA Côte d’Ivoire participated in the conference on “Long term Finance in Côte d’Ivoire”. The event was hosted by the AfDB in collaboration with the Financial Sector Deepening Initiative in Africa (FSDA), the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation (BMZ), implemented by the German development agency GIZ and the Partnership “Making Finance Work for Africa”.
The long-term finance initiative, which began in 2017, seeks to boost the intermediation of long-term finance in Africa to close the financing gap for firms, in particular Small and Medium Enterprises, as well as for housing and infrastructure projects.
Côte d’Ivoire was chosen as the pilot country for an in-depth assessment of long-term finance in 2018. The diagnostic undertaken in Côte d’Ivoire identified seven broadly-defined challenges facing the development of the market in the country.
