Executive Director
Mr. Alex Alozie serves as the Executive Director of United Bank for Africa (UBA), a role he assumed in 2022. In this capacity, he is responsible for driving the Bank’s digital transformation, operational efficiency, and service excellence across its extensive network of operations.
Before joining UBA, Alex held several senior leadership positions in leading Nigerian banks, where he played pivotal roles in shaping the digital and operational landscape of the industry. He served as Head of Operations at Diamond Bank, and later as Head of Digital and Head Office Operations at Access Bank, where he successfully implemented transformative digital initiatives that enhanced customer experience and institutional performance.
His outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s banking modernization have earned him multiple industry recognitions and regulatory commendations, including acknowledgements from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for his role in advancing the Cashless Policy, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for his efforts in E-Dividend implementation, and the CBN/NIBSS Award for his contribution as a member of the BVN Implementation Committee.
A highly respected professional, Alex is a Fellow of several esteemed institutions, including the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria (ICEN), Chartered Institute of Strategic Managers and Leaders (CISML), and the Association of Human Resources of Nigeria. He also serves on various national banking committees, including the CBN Committee on the Cashless Policy, the CBN/NIBSS Committee on BVN Implementation, the CBN/SEC Committee on E-Dividend Mandate, and the CBN Committee on Shared Services.
With his expertise in digital innovation, operations management, and financial strategy, Alex Alozie continues to play a transformative role in shaping the future of banking and driving UBA’s leadership in digital excellence across Africa.
