About Erelu Angela Adebayo

Erelu Angela Adebayo is a distinguished leader and accomplished professional with an extensive career spanning public service, corporate governance, and real estate development. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Social Science from the University of Ibadan, an MBA from the University of Lagos, and an MPhil in Land Economy from the University of Cambridge (Cantab).

Erelu Adebayo has made significant contributions to Nigeria’s corporate and public sectors. She served as the First Lady of Ekiti State, where she championed several social and developmental initiatives. She later became the Chairman of Afriland Properties Plc, leading the organisation’s growth in the real estate sector. Notably, she also holds the distinction of being the first female Chairman of the Board of WEMABOD Estates Limited, a landmark achievement that underscores her trailblazing leadership in an industry traditionally dominated by men.

Beyond her corporate engagements, Erelu Adebayo sits on several high-profile boards, including the Aliko Dangote Foundation, Meyer Paints Plc, and the Women at Risk International Foundation (WARIF). She also serves as a Council Member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), contributing her deep expertise to the advancement of Nigeria’s financial and corporate governance landscape.

A passionate advocate for social welfare and community development, she is the Founder of the Erelu Adebayo Foundation and the Erelu Adebayo Children’s Home, both of which focus on empowering women, supporting vulnerable children, and fostering inclusive community growth.
