About Rotimi Morohunfola

Rotimi Morohunfola is the Chief Executive Officer of UBA America, with nearly 30 years of leadership experience in corporate and institutional banking, structured trade finance, commercial banking, and business strategy across Africa and international markets.

As CEO, Rotimi provides strategic leadership and oversight for UBA America’s operations in the United States and the Grand Cayman Islands, driving the bank’s mission to connect Africa with global financial markets. He is responsible for strengthening the institution’s regulatory and operational resilience, deepening relationships with financial institutions, corporates, and multilateral organizations, and enhancing UBA’s role as a trusted bridge for trade and investment flows between Africa and North America.

Prior to this appointment, Rotimi was Deputy CEO & Head of Business Development (designate) for UBA America from March 2025. Before that, he was Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of UBA Mozambique, where he led a major business transformation that delivered triple-digit growth and earned multiple international awards and recognition from Euromoney, Global Finance Magazine, The Banker (Financial Times), and KPMG. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership positions across diverse banking functions, building a strong reputation of visionary leadership, strong stakeholder engagement, driving strategic growth, and fostering high-performance teams across several markets.

Rotimi holds a Master of Business Administration from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, United Kingdom, a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He has also earned executive professional certificates from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania as well as the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration of Nigeria and an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
