UBA Foundation Ushers In The Yuletide Season With Tree Lighting Ceremony
The UBA Foundation lit up the atmosphere of the Lagos Marina on Tuesday, 29th November with thousands of bright, colourful lights and serenading carols to ring in the yuletide season in its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.
The grand ceremony had in attendance the GMD/CEO of UBA, Oliver Alawuba, the CEO of UBA Foundation, Bola Atta together with other top executives of the Bank as well as staff members and some customers.
The CEO in his address welcomed all attendees and went further to state the importance of the ceremony as a symbol of hope for the coming year, the future and the goodness that is to come. He reiterated the Bank’s commitment to touching lives and giving back to its host communities by improving lives in whatever way it can through its CRS arm, the UBA Foundation.
Alawuba said, “we want to give back always and this event is quite symbolic as it represents the affinity we have towards our customers, employees and associates as well as our communities”.
Bola Atta the CEO of the foundation also talked about the significance of the ceremony and the day, known all over the world as Giving Tuesday which is a “time to give back to those who don’t have enough”, to give hope and gifts and to shine a light on others.
She reaffirmed Mr. Alawuba’s statement of the foundation’s promise and commitment to touching lives and showing kindness, especially in these difficult times.
The UBA Foundation has over the years been creating sustainable development in their host communities through numerous brilliant initiatives one of which is the Food Bank which will be feeding tens of thousands of people across Africa during this festive season.
