UBA Women organise activities for the month of March to commemorate IWD 2023
UBA commitment to empowering women and promoting gender equality is evident in their activities during the 2023 International Women’s Day celebrations. The theme “for inclusive digital world innovations and technology for equality” highlights the importance of leveraging technology and innovation to bridge the gender gap and create a more inclusive society.
Mentoring sessions with university and high school students are vital aspects of UBA Cameroon’s activities during this period. The sessions provide an opportunity for young women to interact with successful female professionals in various fields, learn from their experiences, and be inspired to pursue their dreams. These sessions not only benefit the students but also help to create a pipeline of talented and motivated women who will contribute to the growth and development of Cameroon’s economy.
The Read Africa initiative is another way UBA Cameroon is promoting education and empowering young women. The donation of over 500 books will undoubtedly enhance the students’ knowledge and encourage a reading culture among them. This initiative aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to promote quality education and gender equality.
The participation of UBA Cameroon staff in television discussions is a testament to the bank’s commitment to promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality in the workplace. These discussions create a platform for staff to share their views and experiences on issues that affect women, such as work-life balance, career opportunities and digitalisation. This engagement is essential in fostering a culture of inclusion and diversity in the workplace and promoting the advancement of women in leadership positions.
UBA Cameroon’s commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women through education and mentorship is admirable. The activities that will be carried out in the month of March to celebrate International Women’s Day reflect the bank’s dedication to creating a more inclusive and equitable society. The impact of these activities will undoubtedly be felt in the years to come, as more women are inspired to pursue their dreams and contribute to the growth and development of the economy.
