Ibrahim Abdullahi

Ibrahim Abdullahi, FICA, ACIB, MNIM is a General Manager and Directorate Head, Northwest, at United Bank for Africa Plc, where he oversees 41 branches across Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kebbi and Sokoto States. He leads business development, public sector relationships, risk asset creation and liability generation in one of the Bank's most strategic regional markets.

With over two decades of banking leadership across three of Nigeria's foremost financial institutions, he brings deep expertise in public sector banking, retail and commercial banking, credit risk management and strategic business growth.

At UBA, he has served as Regional Head for Northwest, Kano and Northwest 2, and as Directorate Head, Northeast. Under his leadership, the Northwest Region grew deposits to over ₦300 billion in 2024, and in 2023 the Northwest 2 Region added over ₦100 billion in deposits while achieving its full profit before tax budget within six months.

Previously, he held senior roles at Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, including Group Head, Northeast Division, and Divisional Head, Public Sector Division 2, Abuja. He also served at Zenith Bank Plc.

Ibrahim holds an MBA in Finance from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, and a Bachelor of Technology in Geology from the Federal University of Technology, Yola. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, an Honorary Fellow of the National Institute of Credit Administration, and a Member of both the Chartered Management Institute, United Kingdom, and the Nigerian Institute of Management. He has completed executive programmes at IMD Business School, Switzerland; the University of Michigan Ross School of Business; and Lagos Business School.
