Mohammed Mukhtar Abdul

Mohammed Mukhtar Abdul, AMNIM, ACIB, is the Directorate Head, Northeast, at United Bank for Africa Plc, where he is responsible for business performance, operational oversight and the advancement of the Bank's objectives across the six Northeastern states of Nigeria. He draws on his experience of branch-level and regional banking operations to drive business growth, strengthen execution and promote performance excellence.

A seasoned banking professional with 27 years in the Nigerian banking industry, he has progressed through branch operations, branch management, Zonal/Cluster Operations Management and Regional Management. This progression has given him a well-rounded perspective that combines operational knowledge with business leadership and regional performance management.

His career is distinguished by a track record of business growth and development, supported by broad exposure to banking operations and management at multiple organisational levels. His core strengths include strategic and operational leadership, performance management, team leadership and coordination, and a firm commitment to sound operational processes, service delivery and compliance with established banking standards.

Mohammed holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration in Finance. He is an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He is also an alumnus of the Lagos Business School/UBA Chief Executive Programme.
