Bolaji Joseph Dare

Bolaji Joseph Dare is the Directorate Head, West, at United Bank for Africa Plc, where he oversees the Bank’s operations and business performance across the South-West region of Nigeria. He provides strategic leadership for the Directorate, championing initiatives that enhance profitability, expand market share, strengthen customer relationships, develop talent and drive sustainable business growth.

With over 26 years of banking experience, he has built an extensive career in retail, commercial, SME and public sector banking. His leadership positions include Business Manager, Regional Head, Area Manager and Regional Manager.

Bolaji began his banking career with Standard Trust Bank Plc in 2000 and moved to UBA following the merger in 2005. Over more than two decades in the industry, he has contributed significantly to business growth, deposit mobilisation, credit and risk asset expansion, trade finance development, customer acquisition and operational excellence across various markets and regions.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Ilorin and has attended executive and professional development programmes in banking leadership, credit management, financial management, trade business, negotiation and strategic marketing, including at Lagos Business School. He is a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management.
